About Jay
I started programming computers when I was in grade school. For reference, this was when the Commodore 64 and Apple 2c were popular. I did this because i was disappointed with the games available. Not only did I start learning how to program computers so I could build my own games, but I also found out that these computers had very limited memory. The next thing I learned was how to optimize my programs to be as small as possible because my programs were too big for the computers to store.
I have been professionally developing websites and applications for the past 10+ years. This includes many programming languages, databases, and Content Management Systems (CMS).
I have worked on websites for international publishers, marketing agencies, chemical companies, brokerages, hospital systems, pharmacies, grocery store chains, non-profit organizations and charities.
Most recently I have been building websites using Orchard, a new open-source CMS built on the ASP.Net framework using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern. Orchard also includes jQuery, one of the standards for front-end web development.
